Who We Are
First and foremost, we are a church of choices. We strive to be a place where all Christians can find themselves at home, regardless of theological differences, age or interests. We extend an invitation to those who desire to gather and praise God within a collective spirit of faithfulness that transcends boundaries.
- Our inclusiveness embraces vibrant colors of the spiritual spectrum. People with both conservative and liberal religious beliefs will find like-minded companions within our membership.
- Differences in worship style, spiritual expression and personal gifts and talents are reflections of God’s kingdom kaleidoscope. We honor these differences through diverse offerings and avail them in serving others regionally and globally.
- Intergenerational and life-stage programming are an HPCUMC hallmark. We strive to achieve a time when young and old alike choose to “rather be at church than not.*
- Hyde Park is a vibrant community church. Our vision of community is broad and far-reaching, rooted in United Methodist teachings which call us to “nurture human beings into the fullness of their humanity.”**
- Discipleship encompasses hospitality. Our urban campuses are open seven-days-a-week to organizations which share our belief that being Christian means being in mission.
