Winners
Walk Tall
By Dave Jennings
Kids know about winning and losing. Even at a young age,
they want to keep score and they want to know who won and
who lost. Everyone wins with Winners Walk Tall (WWT). WWT
is a character-building program taught by volunteers to
children K-8 in classrooms across the country, Canada and
Russia .
Participating in WWT is quick and easy. Character coaches
teach the same student group only 10 minutes a week; audio,
video and written materials that address the fundamentals
of good behavior are provided. Training is available.Ask
HPCUMC members Karen Volk, Mark Quarry and Diane Weaver
who have found time in their busy schedules to volunteer
as WWT Character Coaches and teachers. HPCUMC member Dave
Jennings believes in the program so much that he left his
accounting job to run the local chapter of WWT. As Dave
says, "Good character can be learned and spread throughout
the community. Good character strengthens the bonds between
schools, churches and communities.
Winners Walk Tall is fun and , just as importantly, it works!"If
