Blended, Informal Evening Service
“Do not despair, thinking you cannot change yourself after so many years. Simply enter into the presence of Jesus as you are and ask Him to give you a fearless heart where he can be with you. You cannot make yourself different. Jesus came to give you a new heart, a new spirit, a new mind and a new body. Let Him transform you by His love and so enable you to receive His affection in your whole being.”
--Henri M. Nouwen, The Inner Voice of Love: A Journey Through Anguish to Freedom (New York: Doubleday, 1996), p. 41
Founded by the Singles Ministry, the weekly Sunday evening
service is open to all faith traditions or expressions.
It is also an accepting place for persons who are not part
of a faith community. The brief service combines Scripture
readings, music, reflection and personal witnesses; Holy
Communion is served on the first Sunday of the month. Rev.
Dave Weaver preaches the first and last Sundays of the month;
lay leaders preside at other times.
While many who attend the service share divorce, widowhood or separation in common, it is not a prerequisite for worship participation.
At the close of the service, most participants convene to Singles Ministry-sponsored discussion groups and social activities.

“As a single, middle-aged man, I find it very comfortable to attend the Sunday evening service… worshipping with this group is a natural fit.”
