Confirmation at HPCUMC
“I want to walk as a child of the light. I want to follow Jesus. God set the stars to give light to the world. The star of my life is Jesus…”
“I Want to Walk as a Child of the Light”
--Music and lyrics by Kathleen Thomerson, 1966
Children who were baptized as infants affirm their baptismal vows and make a personal profession of faith in a service called "confirmation.” HPCUMC’s Confirmation class is usually made up of seventh graders. Beginning each fall, these junior high-aged church members embark on a journey of faith by attending classes and weekend retreats. The experiences help them discover unique gifts and talents and prepare them for expanded life in the church. In the spring, the class is formally confirmed and received into church membership.
Associate youth director Dana Calhoun coordinates HPCUMC’s Confirmation process. Contact her at (513) 979-8179 or [email protected] for more information.
