Columbarium
Interment at HPCUMC’s Columbarium is a personal choice. The word Columbarium is derived from the Latin term for dove and symbolizes God’s love and peace. Contact director of administration Sue Camp (513) 979-1898 or [email protected] if you wish to learn more about this alternative to ground burial.

Planning a Funeral or Memorial Service at HPCUMC

“Blessed are those who mourn;  they shall find comfort.”

--Matthew 5:4

We share the conviction that in life and death we belong to God. And as your family of faith, HPCUMC shares your sorrow at this difficult time.

We desire to serve you and pay tribute to your loved one with a Christ-centered service that will bring the comfort, assurance and hope of the Christian faith.

Call the church office (513) 871-1345 as soon as possible. Calendar coordinator Lisa Foley (lf[email protected]) will work with you or the funeral director to make these arrangements:

  • Officiating ministers – All HPCUMC clergy may officiate at funerals; special requests are honored whenever possible. The officiating minister will meet with the family to discuss the service, music and message.
  • Facilities – Select a worship space that is best-suited for your needs. The seating capacity of the Grace Building Sanctuary is 620; the Chapel accommodates 80 persons. Upon request, HPCUMC will provide a reception area to greet family members and friends.
  • Music –HPCUMC’s staff organist plays for all HPCUMC funerals and memorial services. You may choose from a repertoire of sacred pieces appropriate for the occasion.
  • Floral Decorations – The Sanctuary altar measures 90 inches; the Chapel altar is 82 inches.
  • Honoraria – Church organist $125.00 ; soloist $85.00 (to sing 1-3 selections). Donations to officiating clergy are accepted, but not required.

“We gather here to praise God and to witness to our faith as we celebrate this life. We come together in grief, acknowledging our human loss. May God grant us grace, that in pain we may find comfort, in sorrow hope, and in death resurrection."

--From the United Methodist Church Service of Death and Resurrection

Memorialize your loved one by designating gifts to HPCUMC’s “Changing Lives” campaign, the Garden of Prayer, Music Fund, Endowment Fund or other projects.
