Your Children Are Invited to Worship at 11:00 a.m.

Starting Rally Day, September 13th, children are invited to attend the 11:00 a.m. service. Kids receive their own bulletin, hear a children's sermon, and participate in activities that teach about worship in the United Methodist Church.

Did you know that you can slip out of the sanctuary with a fussy child and not miss any of the worship service? The service is displayed on the TV in the Welcome Center.

Tweens Fellowship

Our Tweens meet the 3rd Sunday night each month from 6:00-8:00 alternating meetings between HPCUMC and Church of the Redeemer. Activities, fellowship, pizza and pop. Each Tweens needs to bring $2.00 for food.

24 Hours That Changed the World:

FaithWeaver 7-Week Class for Parents
Join the Parents FaithWeaver Sunday School class for this short-term Bible study during Lent. This curriculum was written by Adam Hamilton, pastor at the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Kansas. He filmed the study in Israel at the sites Jesus visited 24 hours prior to the crucifixion. Take this 7-week journey with us as we walk with Jesus and the disciples in the Holy Land and learn from the participants in the Passion.

Palm Parade Sunday

Palm Parade
Our children ages 3 through 4th grade participate in the Palm Parade during our 9:30, 10:50, and 11:00 worship services. This parade of children waving palms during Palm Sunday helps us to remember when Jesus entered the city of Jerusalem for his last week before his death.
how to participate: Please sign your children up during Sunday School on March 21st. We ask that children arrive in their Sunday School rooms no later than 9:15 a.m. on March 28th. Parents, can enjoy coffee, doughnuts, and good fellowship in the refectory (downstairs) between 10:30 and 11:15. Then, pick up your children in the refectory at 11:15, or, after the 10:50 and 11:00 services.

Easter Cross Sunday

Each Easter Sunday we place a cross on the front lawn to remember Jesus and Easter. Help us decorate this cross with flowers you have cut from your garden or pick up a flower or two to bring with you. We will also have a few flowers available for those who forget. Help us to create a beautiful cross full of colorful flowers for our community to see and to help them as well remember Jesus and the hope of Easter!

how: just bring a few of the early spring flowers from your yard, or purchase a few stems and bring them to the cross on the front lawn.

VBS Alert: Save the Date!

Vacation Bible School is June 21 through 25, 2010. The theme for this year is “High Seas Expedition!” Mark the dates on your calendar now. Can you volunteer to help for a half day, a day, or even the whole week? Let us know! We're looking forward to a fun week of high seas adventure!

Good Things to Know

• We have silent pagers for parents. If you're needed during the worship service, we can page you.
• The childcare staff are CPR and First Aid certified,have current background checks, and follow all policies set by HPCUMC.

Childcare Guidelines

Hyde Park Church provides free childcare for Church events that offer childcare. We think you'll agree that this is a valuable service. So, please give review the guidlines below and help us continue to provide this service for all.

Childcare is available during the week so that parents can attend events or classes. It is available only if your event or class offers childcare. For everyone's happiness please review these guidelines:

To reserve or cancel time:

Call Samantha Laichas at 979-8197 or email her at least 48 hours in advance to reserve a time for your child.

Late Policy:
Please be prompt. Childcare staff is available 15 minutes before the start of an event. Fiften minutes after the start of an event, if no children are present, the childcare staff person will depart.

Cancellation Policy:
Please give 24 hours notice of cancellation by emailing or calling Samantha Laichas.

Availability:

Childcare is available only when offered by your class or event.

Please label all bottles, cups, diaper bags, and other items before entering childcare rooms.
